Jodie Mae grew up watching her mum build leadlights on her back deck and couldn't wait to try it for herself. When she finally got the chance, it quickly took over. Now three years on glass and everything about it remains the driving force of her creativity and career. Despite the often bleeding fingertips and regular blood tests required to work, Lead Levels has taken Jodie Mae from ‘silly little flowers’, to an array of sentimental commissions, to 35 metres of custom curved leadlights, to now working collaboratively on international projects. Her work centres on nostalgia and personality while existing to celebrate the tradition of its medium and pull it into modern places.
